Glenrothes 8 year old 2014 Marsala Finish Scotch Whisky by The Cooper's Choice

The Cooper's Choice range of single cask whiskies from Scotland's finest distilleries are releases from the Family owned Independent Bottlers; The Vintage Malt Whisky Company. The range is a homage to the passion and skill of the Coopers, the craftsmen, who build the barrels for maturation of Scotch Whisky. The range focuses on the impact of maturation in oak, and includes several obscure and rare wood finishes.

With fewer and fewer Indie releases of declared Highland Park this is an exceptionally exciting bottling, with the classic 'Highland Park' nose of heathery smoke and sweet spices. After an initial maturation in American Oak, this single cask was finished in an ex-Pedro Ximinez sherry cask, creating a truly memorable whisky!

Nose: Mouth watering heathery smoke and sweet honeyed spices

Palate: Palate bursts with a rich maltiness, more honeyed spice, sweet raisins, dates and dried figs wrapped up blanket of light wood smoke. Wonderful

Finish: Warm and lengthy with more smoke and spices.

The single cask (#498) produced only 306 bottles, with the Australian allocation being 30 bottles.
